Dr. Nicolas Aramouni

Dr. Nicolas Aramouni works as a Post Doctoral Researcher with PMTC in the area of Pharmaceutical Plant Cleaning

He obtained his PhD at the University of Limerick under the supervision of Prof. J.J. Leahy and Dr. Witold Kwapinski, where he worked on the development of coke-resistant catalysts for the dry reforming of methane.

Within PMTC, Nicolas is involved in the core-funded cleaning project (SPOTLESS) where he  works on the design and commissioning of a state of the art Cleaning-In-Place (CIP) pilot test rig equipped with on-line process analytical technology (PAT) tools, in addition to the development of chemometric models for the monitoring of pharmaceutical manufacturing and cleaning processes. He is also involved in the modeling of thermodynamic properties and solubilities of solids and liquids using modeling software such as COSMO-RS and HSPiP.

Nicolas was previously a research engineer and an instructor in chemical engineering at the American University of Beirut where he taught for six years in parallel with his doctoral studies. His teaching experience includes process instrumentation, process control, reactor engineering and process design.

In addition to his academic and research experience, Nicolas has been involved in projects related to industrial safety, heat integration, biodiesel production and ethanol distillation.

Areas of expertise:

-Process engineering

-Heterogeneous catalysis

-Process Analytical Technology
