Dr. Marta Perez-Lloret
Dr. Marta Perez-Lloret works as a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellow with PMTC and based at NUI Galway.
Dr. Marta Pérez Lloret obtained her MSc in Chemistry in 2014 at the University of Zaragoza, Spain. From 2014 to 2017 she was a PhD student in Chemical Sciences at University of Catania, Italy, in the frame of the European Project Marie Curie Network for Initial Training – ITN Cyclon-Hit funded by the Seventh EU Framework Program. Titled “Photoactivable Multimodal Antimicrobial Nanoconstructs”, her thesis focused on the design and fabrication of innovative nanocarriers presenting antibacterial activity under light stimulation.
Since 2018 Marta has worked with Dr Erxleben at NUI Galway, in the field of pharmaceutical solid state applied in improving the efficiency of pharmaceutical drugs.
Marta was awarded a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship in 2020 and is currently investigating injectable nanohydrogels enhancing anticancer activity of gold-based drugs supported by Dr. Erxleben and Helsinn Birex Pharmaceuticals Ltd.
