Dr. Mahdi Ghadiri
Dr Mahdi Ghadiri works as Marie Sklodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellow with PMTC at the University of Limerick working on Flow Chemistry for Advanced Pharmaceutical Manufacturing.
Mahdi began his studies in Chemical and Biochemical engineer with a BEng degree in Chemical Engineering, followed by an MEng degree in Chemical Engineering, separation processes, and finally completing his PhD in Biochemical Technology from the University of Cape Town, South Africa.
Having recently been awarded a Marie Sklowdowska-Curie Career Fit Fellowship with PMTC, Mahdi's current research project FLOWRE will work toward addressing the development of a novel continuous drug synthesis of a selected API. This project is supported by Prof. Gavin Walker and Janssen Pharmaceuticals Limited.
Mahdi has technical expertise in knowledge in chemical and biochemical engineering technologies and sciences such as kinetics and reaction engineering, transport phenomena and especially separation processes. Skilled in lab work, Process engineering, and good practices regarding flow chemistry, and also has additional skills and education in the following critical process areas within pharmaceutical manufacturing:
- API synthesis
- solvent extraction of metal ions
- modelling and simulation of chemical/biochemical processes.
