Dr. Marina Steiner-Browne
Dr. Marina Steiner-Browne is a Post Doctoral researcher in the domain of Pharmaceutical Cleaning within PMTC.
Dr. Marina Steiner-Browne joined PMTC to work on the core cleaning project SPOTLESS. She will be working on the implementation of online PAT and Chemometrics solutions for cleaning monitoring and verification. She has extensive experience in the area of multi-way Chemometrics of multidimensional fluorescence spectroscopy data and the development of calibration methods for these measurements.
Marina completed her PhD entitled “Anisotropy Resolved Multidimensional Emission Spectroscopy (ARMES) for the analysis of IgG type proteins’’ in Analytical Chemistry at the National University of Ireland, Galway. She worked under the supervision of Prof. Alan G. Ryder on Advanced Analytics for Biotherapeutic Manufacturing. The aim of her research project was to produce analytical methods that can be deployed as Process Analytical Technologies (PAT) in biopharmaceutical manufacturing, and specifically for Downstream Processing for the analysis of proteins.
Marina won several prestigious prizes based on her PhD work, one at Biopharma Ambition (2018), a second prize in the Eli Lilly award in 201, and the BOC award in 2020.
Areas of Expertise
During Dr Steiner-Browne's PhD studies at the Nanoscale Biophotonics Laboratory at NUI Galway her research was focused on the application of multi-dimensional fluorescence anisotropy for the identification and characterisation of IgG type proteins in liquid solutions.
