Community of Practice - Lyophilisation

PMTC recognises the importance of knowledge sharing with the establishment of our Lyophilisation community of practice (CoP) in 2019, where member companies with an interest in gaining and sharing knowledge on the process of Lyophilisation can come together to share case studies and best practices, as well as brainstorm ideas and opportunities to develop better process controls to support lyophilisation processing.

Led by Dr David Egan, Our Lyo Community of Practice brings together research expertise and industry experts to work together to share knowledge, inform research and drive innovation in the science of Lyophilisation across the breadth of Irish Pharmaceutical Manufacturing.

Lyophilisation is increasingly applied in product development to assure stability of products in worldwide distribution channels. The growth of products being approved in lyophilised form makes this area rich for further research and development.
